I’m Thy Do,
an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker based in Southern Adelaide.
I’m drawn to this work because I’ve seen what can shift when we begin to know ourselves and how we relate to our surroundings.
I bring a warm and collaborative style that prioritises what matters to you. Together, we make sense of your experiences and find practical ways forward.
Mental health systems are often complex and don’t always provide what people need, when they need it. Sessions can address what feels most helpful right now, as well as what you need to access support with dignity and agency.
I draw on a range of evidence-based frameworks to provide flexible and responsive counselling, including cognitive behavioural and interpersonal therapies, narrative practice and attachment-oriented approaches.
My engagement with children and young people is guided by age and developmental stage. Their voices and perspectives are central to collaborative conversations with parents and caregivers.
Working with me
My experience
I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
For over a decade, I’ve been fortunate to work as a counsellor, advocate and clinical supervisor in urban and remote communities across the country. These experiences have shown me how our environment and the stories we hold shape our identity.
My background includes child and youth mental health, perinatal counselling, family support and preservation and facilitating parenting and psychoeducational programs.
I hold a Bachelor of Social Work and a Graduate Certificate in Applied Mental Health Studies, specialising in perinatal and infant mental health.
Clinical supervision
I understand the realities of navigating complex service systems and approach supervision with a curiosity about how and why we show up in our work with others.
Finding my own community of practice and engaging in reflective supervision has been invaluable to me and I aim to offer the same support to others. This includes fostering psychological safety, modelling self-compassion and strengthening practice that stays true to our values.
I have a particular interest in supporting early career practitioners, new and emerging supervisors, people working in rural or remote settings, and social workers pursuing their Mental Health Credential.
